Lent-it's not just for springtime anymore. It's Holy Week all through the year with this attractive gift book, which focuses attention on Christ's passion from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday, but does so via 365 daily readings that are meant to last for an entire year. The padded hardcover devotional is fully illustrated and offers reflections from some of Christianity's most recognizable and popular thinkers, from the classical (Origen, St. Augustine, John Bunyan, Thomas Kempis, Charles Wesley) to the contemporary (Max Lucado, Philip Yancey, Ravi Zacharias, Walter Wangerin). However, with 365 slots, one would think that the editors might have found room for more female voices, despite a brief nod to songwriter Fanny Crosby.
